5 Things You Can Do To Calm Your Baby While Breastfeeding Them – Tips For First Time Mothers

  • Check Diaper

If your baby is crying a lot when you are breastfeeding them, that could be because their diaper is wet. Remember, your baby only knows how to smile and cry, which is why the first thing you need to check when the baby is crying is their diaper. There is a big chance that your baby might be crying because their diaper is wet or if they have pooped in their pants.

  • Play Calming Music

Another thing that you need to do is play calming music when you are breastfeeding your baby, considering that it can calm your baby if they are having a hard time keeping them still or feeding them when they are hungry. Try to know the music that your baby is into and make sure that you are playing something that they love. This can help them stay calm when you are feeding them.

  • Pat Your Baby

If your baby is having a hard time staying still or is not calming down, try to talk to them and pat them as this can help you out a lot in keeping them calm. Try to find a spot that they prefer and make sure that you are petting them correctly and very gently.

  • Make Sure They Are In A Comfortable Position

There is a possibility that your baby might be uncomfortable in the position that they are currently in when they are drinking your milk, which is why you want to make sure that your baby is in a comfortable position.

  • Sing For Them

The last thing that you need to do is sing for your baby when you are breastfeeding. A mother’s voice can be pretty calming for them when they are trying to breastfeed their little ones. Once you understand what makes them pretty calm and which song makes them calm, you can start singing that song.
