While these Modules build upon each other to provide a comprehensive overview of ACEs, trauma, toxic stress and resilience, they are built to be flexible enough so that they can be offered in segments to meet specific audience needs. Beginning July 1, 2020, Medi-Cal providers must attest to completing a certified core ACE training on the DHCS website to continue receiving payment for ACE screenings. ACEs Aware is an initiative led by the Office of the California Surgeon General and the Department of Health Care Services to give Medi-Cal providers training, clinical protocols, and payment for screening children and adults for ACEs. The ACEs Consortium will relaunch their Training of the Trainer (TOT) ACEs Training in 2020. This is a good overall view on brain development for children, the ideals and where it can go wrong with exposure to the toxic stress experienced during early trauma.
