Breastfeeding Tips For New Mothers

  • Relax: Remember, when you’re stressed out, it’s likely that you will make the wrong decisions, which can just agitate your little one. If the baby keeps on crying, don’t worry and don’t get stressed out really fast, instead, try to take your time and relax. Make sure you’re doing everything right, try to check if the baby has wet diapers, and make sure that they’re comfortable.

  • Find The Right Position: Baby’s cannot speak, all they know is to cry when they’re comfortable and smile when they’re happy,  which is why if they’re crying when you’re breastfeeding, make sure they’re in the right position. Check out their head, their back, their neck, and the overall position of their body. In case it’s in a weird position, try to fix it up because your baby might be in distress because of that position.

  • Leaking Is Normal: In the first couple of weeks, it is normal for milk to leak from your breasts, which is why you should never be alarmed or ashamed as it is completely natural. Your breasts can leak if your baby cries or another baby cries, it can leak when you have not nursed your baby for some time or it can happen when you’re having mixed emotions and even when you think about your baby.  Eventually, it will disappear, so don’t worry.

  • Ask For Help: If you’re having a hard time breastfeeding your little one, ask for help. By doing this simple thing, you can get answers to every little thing that has been bothering you. Usually, it’s best to ask your doctor about breastfeeding.  Ask them all the questions that you have. Remember, their answers are the only ones that you should be following.
